Toxicator Press Event - Alton Towers Resort (Lighting Designer)

This story-led press event was designed to give a creepy and scientific look to the Alton Towers Resort conference centre.

Having more creative freedom with this project, I was able to come up with the storyline and planned events for the evening. Working alongside the storyline for the ride, guests would be greeted with the Phalanx's new Deployable Venum Refinery (DVR) which let the guests have a taste of the new green venum in the form of themed green cocktails.

The lighting and set layout of the room consisted of large tubes designed to have uplights or moving headlights, that can be focused within to create a machine glowing with green venum. Along with this, large pipes head to the centre truss with pixels to create an electrified liquid effect.

Working with the conference centre, we got the chance to theme the entrance area to make the overall immersive experience start as soon as the guests arrived.

Using a total of 32 titan tubes along stair cases and walls with the addition of low fog to make that toxic environment feel for guests before they even stepped foot into the Stateroom.
